Synopsis
The time spent during a journey is always the best moments for story telling. Director Chen Huai-en, who has devoted twenty years in the film production industry, presents a cluster of thirteen stories collected from a trip along the shoreline of Taiwan in his maiden work Island Etude — a film that embodies Director Chen’s observation and affection towards the island of Taiwan.

The story starts with an undergraduate student with hearing disorder. One day, he makes a determined decision to withdraw from school and embark on a biking trip around the island of Taiwan with the accompaniment of his guitar. During the 7-day-trip, this biking boy is drawn into interactions with various people living on the island. The places he went to and the people he met together reflect Chen’s, as well as Taiwanese people’s profound affection towards this little but beautiful island imbued with warm-hearted spirits.

Have you ever been inspired to do something that you've never done before, just like the bike-riding boy in the movie? If the answer is yes, do not hesitate to do it now, for that inspiration may just fly away with time.
