Synopsis
Filmed on the beautiful eastern coastline of Taiwan, the movie unveils the story of three people who are all at a point in their life when they are desperate to get away. Tang, a sound recorder, drives to the east coast of Taiwan to capture the “Sounds of Formosa”, hoping to reconnect with his ex-girlfriend. Xiao-yun receives these tape recordings of wonderful sounds at her new apartment from a man who thought his ex-girlfriend still lives at the place. Being so tired of her disappointing office love affair, she decides to go on a journey to discover the unnamed places in the sound recordings. A-tsai, a psychiatrist who can solve other people's problems but is having his own family problems, also decides to escape from his life but runs into trouble where he almost got blackmailed if he were not saved by Tang.

When these people all have lost something so dearly in their life, they choose to go on a solo journey, in search of the most mysterious sounds away from the urban city life, in search of a second chance in love. They have each embarked on a journey to escape to the furthest landscape, by the most distant course. But what they find in the faraway land is really something that has always been close to their hearts.
